Rachel joined CIA in 2021, bringing her genuine passion for social care with her impressive 12-years of experience.
Rachel’s Background:
A brief glimpse into Rachel’s background and career, Rachel started working as a care assistant at the age of 17. With roles in a lawyer’s office and emigration, Rachel honed her skills in office operations and attention to detail. This diverse experience paved the way for her managerial roles in a social care staffing agency and domiciliary care provider, eventually leading her to her current role as Business Unit Director.
Personal Journey to the Current Role:
Rachel’s journey weaves through various experiences, from a care assistant to roles in law and emigration. This diverse background equipped her with skills crucial for managing office operations and navigating highly regulated settings. Her managerial roles in social care agencies brought her back to her roots, culminating in her current position leading a national team of consultants supporting providers with CQC regulations compliance.
Favourite Project and Accomplishments:
One of Rachel’s proudest achievements is completing her degree in Marketing in 2021 and stands out as a personal milestone for her. Professionally, her promotion to Business Unit Director at The CIA Group is a testament to her dedication. One standout project involved an independent investigation featured on BBC news, uncovering failings and providing answers to families during challenging times.
Inspiration Behind Joining The CIA Group:
Rachel’s journey to The CIA Group is a tale of resilience and seizing opportunities. Facing redundancy during the COVID lockdowns, she saw it as a chance to reset and explore new horizons. It was during this time that she stumbled upon Samuel Barrington’s call for a Head of Business. Fate intervened, and despite the uncertainties, Rachel found her perfect fit at The CIA Group, where her passion for social care and leadership skills align seamlessly.
Rachel’s advice for newcomers looking to thrive within THe CIA Group and in the industry:
‘Always keep the end user in mind, when interviewing consultants consider, do they have the right expertise and personal values to support care providers to improve their care? Problem solving is key when working with clients, treat every scenario as a bespoke assignment, tailored to your clients’ needs’.
